AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Jimmy Earnest recently presented a $10,000 AEP Texas Foundation grant to CASA of Val Verde County to support its child advocacy and services program. The funding will support the organization's work with abused and neglected children involved in the court system. 

"The funding will help CASA continue its mission of advocating for abused and neglected children involved in the court system, ensuring they have a dedicated voice and access to the resources needed to achieve safe, permanent homes," Earnest said.

CASA works through trained volunteers and community partnerships like AEP Texas to support children and families. The Del Rio-based organization joined the statewide CASA network in 2024, according to Texas CASA's annual impact report. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
