AEP Texas employees recently joined together to support a lifesaving cause by participating in a blood drive held at the Uvalde Service Center. The event was organized after External Affairs Manager Jimmy Earnest recognized the ongoing need for blood donations in South Texas and worked with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center to bring its mobile donation unit to the facility.

The blood drive gave employees a convenient opportunity to give back while helping replenish the region’s blood supply. Throughout the day, employees donated blood knowing their contributions could help patients facing medical emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments and other critical health needs.

“Blood donations are vital to the health and safety of our communities,” Earnest said. “When we learned there was a need, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for employees to participate. Bringing the blood mobile to the service center allowed our team to support a cause that directly impacts families across South Texas.”
