Hurricane Preparedness: AEP Texas hosts hurricane drill

April 30, 2026

With hurricane season approaching, roughly 130 AEP Texas employees and emergency management personnel from across the state are getting ahead of the storm with the 2026 Hurricane Preparedness Drill. Held in Robstown, the drill included a mock hurricane event which focused on how each team will prepare for and respond to the storm.

President and COO of AEP Texas Adrian Rodriguez emphasized the drill’s seriousness, stating the importance of staying prepared.

“In order to be ready for hurricane season, our teams need to be ready and practices like today are exactly what will allow us to be prepared and deliver for our customers,” Rodriguez said. “Exercises like this sharpen our focus and keep us ready to do our best when the time comes to deliver for our customers.”
