AEP Texas employees helped teach a lecture on electrical systems and power generation for a class of sophomores and juniors at Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. Juan Ledezma, Juan Garcia, and Jesus Cedillo assisted a visiting lecturer for an Introduction to Electrical Systems in Construction class.

They explained to students how power is generated and delivered to homes and businesses, highlighting the importance of electrical construction during the building process.

Ledezma said this was the first time they were asked to present to a college class.

“For the past 10 years, we have participated in career days at local elementary, middle, and high schools, where we introduce students to career opportunities in our industry,” he said. “This event provided an excellent opportunity to expand our outreach by engaging with university students and helping them better understand the electrical construction industry and the career path it offers.”
