Louie the Lightning Bug thrilled kids at the Boys and Girls Club during the 'Back to School Bash.'
On August 5, employees attended the San Angelo READS! event hosted by San Angelo ISD. San Angelo READS! is a community-wide literacy initiative designed to promote reading and support SAISD students in building “future-ready” skills. AEP Texas employees distributed swag items, coloring books, and crayons. Technician Ty Kothmann strapped on the Louie the Lightning Bug costume and captivated the kids, creating lasting connections.
Another event that San Angelo employees supported was the Boys and Girls Club of the Concho Valley’s “End of Summer Bash”, where local organizations came together to hand out school supplies and treats for young students. Resource Analyst Melissa Morris, Administrative Associate Robyn Gonzales, and Guerrero joined the fun by distributing Louie the Lightning Bug-themed coloring books and crayons.
“Being visible, approachable, and engaged, especially with children, helps put faces to the logo they see on our trucks every day,” San Angelo External Affairs Manager Fred Guerrero said.
