The AEP Texas Foundation granted $5,000 to the Childress We Can Care, a non-profit organization that supports cancer patients in Childress County, Texas. The funds will go toward general support for cancer patients who must arrange for their treatments. Cancer patients receive a variety of financial help from the program for various circumstances including gas, hotel stays, grocery assistance, and vehicle maintenance.
Throughout the year, the organization holds fundraisers, an annual survivor and caregiver dinner, as well as holiday support programs. External Affairs Manager Luke Roberson presented the grant at the organization’s Annual Cancer Survivor Dinner.
“Many AEP Texas employees, or their loved ones, have had to fight a cancer prognosis. Childress We Can Care is a great organization which fights right alongside Childress County citizens throughout their treatment plan,” Roberson said. “I am thrilled the AEP Texas Foundation is able to partner with such a meaningful organization to help one of the great communities we serve.”
