The Rotary Club of Pleasanton received a $1,000 grant from the AEP Texas Foundation to support its Free Book Fair and help provide books to local second-grade students.
With the foundation’s support, the Rotary Club handed out books to students as a way to promote the love for reading at an early age. External Affairs Manager Jimmy Earnest said the children were excitedly reading their new books by the end of the school day.
As part of AEP Texas’ ongoing commitment to education and community engagement, Earnest worked closely with Rotary representatives throughout the grant process and will continue finding ways to help the communities AEP Texas serves.
