AEP Texas employees participated in a Dia del Niño celebration hosted by Friends of the Rio Grande City Public Library, joining community members for a day focused on children, families and education. In Mexico Dia del Niño is celebrated today (April 30), and many Hispanic communities in Texas join in the celebration. 

The event welcomed more than 800 children and adults and featured interactive games, prizes and food provided by local businesses and organizations. With support from External Affairs Manager Daniel Lucio, AEP Texas contributed an $800 donation to the event. Library Director Norma Gomez Fultz said the funds were used to purchase books and prizes for children attending the celebration.

Several AEP Texas linemen and service employees attended with their families and took part in activities. Many employees' children participated in games and won door prizes. AEP Texas representatives said the event reflects the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the communities it serves.
