AEP Texas Honors Veterans with $2,600 Donation for New Huey Display

December 8, 2025

AEP Texas donated a $2,600 check to the Aransas Pass Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2932 for a new display featuring a vintage UH-1 Iroquois helicopter, known as the "Huey." This new display will replace the one destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

The restoration project has been a labor of love for the Post, supported by contributions from members, such as the Aransas Pass City Council, the Mayor, City Administration, Police Chief, Municipal Development District, Tractor Supply of AP, Kiewit, H. Lancaster Co., and private donations through the Buddy Poppy Program. Collision 1 Auto Body Specialists are currently finalizing the body work on the display.

"We are honored to support VFW Post 2932 and their commitment to honoring our veterans," External Affairs Manager Patrick King said. "This contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve and helps to ensure that the legacy of our brave service members is remembered."
