San Angelo employees continue recovery and rebuilding after July 4 floods

August 11, 2025

In the wake of the recent Texas floods, three AEP Texas employees: Lee A. Holsey, John W. Goolsby, and Edward "Eddie" De Hoyos, are on the path to recovery, supported by their community, colleagues, and families. The floods caused significant damage and loss, impacting five AEP Texas employees, with Holsey, Goolsby, and De Hoyos facing immense challenges.

All three employees expressed gratitude for the immediate outreach from the San Angelo district, highlighting the overwhelming support received in the form of offers for assistance. Local fundraising efforts, spearheaded by AEP Texas employees Adrian Benavides and Barbie Benavides, raised approximately $4,500. Additionally, the AEP Texas Foundation donated $25,000 to the San Angelo Area Foundation to support recovery efforts.

Thanks to the AEP Employee Disaster Relief Fund, Holsey, Goolsby, and De Hoyos each received $3,000, which will assist them in rebuilding their lives after the disaster. The collective compassion and generosity displayed by their colleagues serve as a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within the AEP Texas family.
