Energy, AI and rural growth discussed at West Texas Legislative Summit

AEP Texas representatives attended the West Texas Legislative Summit on July 28-29 in San Angelo, hosted by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the West Texas Energy Strategy, AEP Texas' future, and the role of AI and data centers in Texas and across the country. 

This year’s summit From the Ground Up: West Texas Driving American Strength, focused on federal issues, such as Powering Progress: West Texas Energy Driving a Global Future; Deep Roots and Steadfast Resolve: Agriculture Growing America’s Future; At the Heart of It All: Strengthening Rural Health to Sustain Communities; and From Dirt Roads to Data Streams: Our Region at the Crossroads of Space & Connectivity.

Representing AEP Texas were Director of Government Affairs Isaac Albarado, State Government Affairs Manager Kelly Sadler, Director System Supervisor Brian Simpson, and External Affairs Manager Fred Guerrero.

Also in attendance were U.S. Rep. August Pfluger, State Rep. Drew Darby, U.S. Rep. Jody Arrington, Executive Assistant Commissioner Jonathan Miller; Gen. Dan Caine, as well other state and local leaders.
