AEP Texas Leadership Summit prompts innovation

June 16, 2025

AEP Texas brought together company leaders from across the state for a two-day leadership summit in Corpus Christi to discuss strategies for improving customer experience, reliability, safety, legislative planning, wildfire mitigation, and the vital role employees play in the company’s success. The summit emphasized the importance of every customer interaction, with Vice President of Customer Experience Alex Ramirez urging employees to engage with customers and promote the AEP Texas app for real-time updates.

The event highlighted the company's Perfect Power initiative, aimed to reduce outages. With over 1,100 customers experiencing multiple outages in 2024, leaders set a goal to decrease this number by at least 75% in the coming year and enhance outage tracking by 2026. Discussions also revolved around small-scale improvements, like infrastructure upgrades and tree trimming, alongside the pressing need for wildfire mitigation strategies, as highlighted by Director of Wildfire Program Management Justin Turner.

AEP Texas President & COO Judith Talavera concluded the summit by encouraging a culture of openness to change and collaboration in the pursuit of excellence.
