In celebration of Right-of-Way (ROW) Professionals Week, AEP Texas honors the dedicated team that facilitates the success of transmission projects.

These professionals expertly navigate the complexities of easement negotiations and legal requirements, acting as a vital link between infrastructure development and landowners.

ROW Agent Ronika G. Moralez highlights the personal growth she has experienced through her role, stating, “I was inspired to broaden my real estate, customer experience, and negotiating skills in the utility industry.”

While acquiring easements can be rewarding, it often involves intricate legal discussions that present unique challenges.

ROW Supervisor Nick Curiel III, a 17-year veteran, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the excitement of teamwork and the joy of seeing projects come to fruition amidst the pressures of tight timelines.

The camaraderie within the ROW team is palpable, as Transmission ROW Coordinator Armando Mendez notes, “We’re more like family than co-workers.”

This supportive culture fosters success and collaboration, culminating in a special lunch to celebrate their achievements.

As Curiel succinctly states, “Without the right-of-way, you can't put poles in the ground.”
