AEP Texas Returns to Normal Business Operations

Update: 1/27/2026 12:45 PM CT

AEP Texas would like to thank our customers for their patience and confidence in our crews as we restored power outages through the duration of Winter Storm Fern. AEP Texas crews worked around the clock in severe weather conditions to safely restore service as quickly as possible.

Judith Talavera, AEP Texas president & chief operating officer, said that the safety and preparedness of our employees reflect our mission to put the customer first.

“We continuously train and drill to stay prepared and ready to respond to any event for the benefit of our customers,” Talavera said. “This historic winter storm impacted communities across our entire service territory, and crews responded quickly in challenging conditions to take care of our customers.”

On Tuesday, all AEP Texas crews return to normal business operations.
