On November 21, 2019, AEP Texas and Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) successfully closed their proposed transaction to transfer to AEP Texas Oncor's distribution assets located in or around the cities of McAllen and Mission in Hidalgo County, including the Sharyland Plantation community. Certificated rights to serve the geographic area relative to and served by these distribution assets also were transferred from Oncor to AEP Texas as part of the transaction.
As a result, all of Oncor's approximately 3,100 retail distribution customers in this area will now be served by AEP Texas. The process to transition these customers will begin December 3, 2019 and should be completed by the end of December 2019.
During the transition, former Oncor customers should continue to call Oncor's outage number at 888.313.4747.
After December 20th, 2019, customers should contact AEP Texas' outage number at 866.223.8508.
