A U.S. Department of Energy official got a firsthand look at AEP Texas’ operations and plans to rebuild and expand transmission lines with a federal loan expected to boost reliability and save customers money.
Abilene employees Jared Asbill and Shaun Mccleese visited Wylie High School to speak to students about the utility industry and what being a lineworker is like. Asbill graduated from Wylie High School and said he enjoyed getting to be a guest speaker because he would have appreciated the opportunity when he was a student.

The AEP Texas Rio Grande Valley District has chosen Distribution Operation Technician Basil Morin as July's Good Catch winner for his decision to stop work after noticing an issue with a bypass switch.
