AEP Texas has released Estimated Times of Restoration (ETRs) for areas affected by Hurricane Beryl. At 8:30 p.m. Monday, approximately 17, 600 customers are without power down from a peak of 34,500 customers outages at 8 a.m. Monday.
Estimated Times of Restoration
- Bay City area: 5 p.m. Thursday, July 11
- Palacios/Blessing area: 5 p.m. Thursday, July 11
- El Campo area: 5 p.m. Thursday, July 11
- Columbus/Eagle Lake area: 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10
Crews will assess ETR’s as the restoration effort progresses.
AEP Texas reminds customers to follow these safety guidelines:
- All downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous. Do not touch anything in contact with the line, such as trees, fences, or puddles of water. Keep children and pets inside during and after the storm. Stay at least ten feet away from any downed power line.
- If you plan to use a portable generator, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Customers on life support systems or other medical equipment that rely on electricity should have a solid backup plan for areas where prolonged outages may occur.
