Erin Rasmussen is director, ERCOT Strategy & Policy for AEP Texas. She provides strategic leadership for ERCOT Strategy & Policy, Competitive Retail Relations, Billing & Accounting Operations, and Energy Efficiency. She leads efforts to advance ERCOT market and regulatory priorities, strengthen competitive retail relationships, enhance customer operations, advance energy efficiency initiatives, and position AEP Texas for the evolving needs of the Texas electric market.

She brings broad experience across the electric utility industry, with expertise in ERCOT market operations, regulatory and policy strategy, transmission planning, customer operations, and stakeholder engagement. Her experience spans regulatory proceedings, Energy Delivery strategy, engineering, and transmission-related initiatives, giving her a unique perspective across the technical, regulatory, and business considerations shaping the Texas electric market.

Known for her collaborative approach, she works across AEP and with ERCOT, regulators, and industry stakeholders to build alignment on complex issues affecting the Texas electric market. She is passionate about translating complex technical and policy issues into actionable strategies that strengthen grid reliability and create long-term value for customers and stakeholders.

She holds bachelor's degrees in environmental science and engineering from Marshall University, where she graduated cum laude. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Oklahoma and Ohio.
