The USS Lexington Museum marked America’s 250th anniversary on July 4 with a special day of history, family fun and patriotic celebration, made possible in part through the support of AEP Texas. A $35,000 donation from AEP Texas reduced admission to $2.50 to make the museum more accessible to the community. 

“AEP Texas believes in the power of community. We are excited that our support of the USS Lexington Museum allows everyone in our Coastal Bend community and around Texas the opportunity to enjoy a $2.50 admission to The Lady Lex for America’s 250th birthday,” said Omar Lopez, AEP Texas Communications director. “At AEP Texas, we put the customer first. We’re proud to be a part of an important celebration for our nation and our great state of Texas.”

AEP Texas also served as a sponsor of the USS Lexington Museum’s “Red, White, & Boom!” Fireworks Viewing Party." The event featured live music, patriotic souvenirs, food, beer and wine available for purchase, and a new patriotic laser show in honor of America’s 250th anniversary before the City of Corpus Christi’s fireworks display over the bayfront.
