AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Daniel Lucio and IT Manager Norberto Martinez presented a drone to the Rio Grande City Fire Department during the Starr County Industrial Foundation’s quarterly meeting in Rio Grande City. The donation gives first responders another tool to support public safety operations and improve emergency response.

The drone can be used to assess scenes from above, gather information and increase situational awareness, helping first responders better understand conditions as they prepare and carry out their response. Starr County Judge Eloy Vera and community leaders attended the presentation.

The donation is part of AEP Texas’ ongoing support for first responders and the communities it serves. The company has made similar drone donations across its districts in support of public safety and STEM education.
