Three AEP Texas employees volunteered their time on Wednesday, Sept. 16, to help deliver city-provided bottled water to Childress residents affected by a disruption in the municipal water supply. Service Mechanic A Sawyer Bocanegra and Line Crew Leaders Stratton Bocanegra and Bradley Cribbs assisted elderly residents, day care centers and others who were unable to reach a distribution site.

The city of Childress, which receives water from the Greenbelt Municipal and Industrial Water Authority, had placed residents under a boil-water notice after supply levels dropped and disinfectant levels declined during extreme heat. With the city limiting bottled water distribution to one case per family, the employees stepped in to ensure those unable to leave their homes or facilities still received the water they needed.
