With their hammers and drills in hand, 23 AEP Texas employees helped refurbish two cabins for Scouting America Camp Karankawa’s staff near Mathis, Texas.
The summer heat didn’t stop AEP Texas volunteers and Scout volunteers from assisting with the staff cabin remodels, including installing metal roofing, electrical lighting, and insulation, as well as other upgrades. The project is nearly complete, with the cabins now insulated and air-conditioned. Martin Sepulveda, Scout Executive and CEO of Scouting America's South Texas Council, said the cabins are nearly 50 years old and needed updates.
“AEP Texas has been a community partner for decades. We are very fortunate to have companies like this that invest back into the communities, like Scouting America. We are so happy to have AEP Texas be part of this,” Sepulveda said.
