Corpus Christi Distribution System Supervisors, Jesus Vasquez and Jeffry Edgemon, trained over 100 Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) employees on how to stay safe when encountering a downed power line, whether on the job or during a storm. They covered power line safety, how to respond to a downed line while working, how to contact AEP Texas, and how to keep themselves and the public safe. 

“We feel it is important to share safety information with everyone we can, including first responders, city employees and anyone who may respond to an emergency. That way, when the time comes, they know what to do and can apply the training AEP provided,” Vasquez said. 

AEP Texas hopes attendees gain from the training is the importance of always being aware of their surroundings.
