AEP Texas employees celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day with children of all ages. Kids spent the day watching crews dig holes, mount transformers, attending city council meetings, presenting checks on behalf of AEP Texas Foundation, and learning about the utility industry.

Stamford Technician William Maynard brought his 13-year-old daughter Layla to work with him and said they will remember this day for a long time.

"I really enjoyed spending the day with Layla, it’s something we don’t get to do very often,” Maynard said. “The most memorable part of the day was watching the excitement in her eyes as the crew dug the holes, mounted transformers and set the poles. She mentioned more than once that she could be that person in the bucket.”
