AEP Texas partnered with the West Side Business Association (WSBA) to provide groceries to 150 residents on the West Side of Corpus Christi, supporting those facing food insecurity. AEP Texas and the WSBA purchased groceries from the Coastal Bend Food Bank, including milk, eggs, vegetables, meat, and other items. Employee volunteers distributed the food, helping ensure families received shelf-stable goods and household essentials to meet immediate needs. 

Gricelda Calzada, regional external affairs manager, said “beyond simply meeting a basic need, these food distributions help reduce stress, allow families to redirect their resources to other essentials, and remind them that the community and its partners genuinely care about their well-being."

She also noted that participating in volunteer events strengthens AEP Texas’s connection to the communities the company serves.
