More than 300 high school students from seven districts connected with AEP Texas representatives at the 5th annual ACCESS Monahans Regional College and Job Fair Expo. Cosme Roman, Joshua Mata (McCamey) and Veronica Martinez (McCamey) spoke with students about career paths, daily duties, required training and the company’s safety-first culture.
Students gathered to ask practical questions about on-the-job experiences and next steps for entering the utility workforce. “It was a fun experience to interact with the kids, get their attention and get them interested in what we do,” Mata said. The visit aimed to prepare students for future careers and spark interest in skilled, safety-focused roles.
