The Corpus Christi District hosted Career Day for local high school students to explore the career opportunities that AEP Texas has to offer.
“We invited seven schools to participate, and we have 11 departments represented, showing the students and their parents, who are our customers, what AEP does. They can see we’re more than just a power company, and they can see all the available career paths,” Distribution System Manager Tom Cardenas said.
The departments that participated in the Career Day included Distribution Line, Transmission Field Services, Meter Revenue Operations, Fleet, Continuous Improvement, Central Transformer Shop, Stores, Engineering, Customer Service, Network, and Telecom. Students learned about the utility industry and handle various tools and personal protective equipment used daily by employees.
