AEP Texas recently celebrated new home builders from the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, and Corpus Christi districts for their dedication to energy-efficient construction through the AEP Texas High-Performance Homes Program. These builders were recognized for creating homes that save energy, enhance comfort, and ensure durable construction. A licensed Home Energy Rater verified each home to meet AEP Texas’s strict energy efficiency program standards.
“At AEP Texas, we believe strong communities start with forward-thinking builders committed to creating homes that are not only energy-efficient but also built with care and purpose,” Energy Efficiency & Consumer Program Coordinator Pamela Le said.
The program offers financial incentives to new home builders who exceed required kilowatt-hour (kWh) savings by at least five percent. Additional incentives are available for advanced options, such as heat pump air conditioning systems, heat pump water heaters, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, ENERGY STAR® smart thermostats, and more.
