AEP Texas employees participated in Career Day at Lee H. Means Elementary, where approximately 700 students learned about careers in the utility industry and the importance of electrical safety. Line crews gave students a hands-on look at the personal protective equipment and tools used in the field, allowing them to try on gear while learning how crews safely perform their work each day. Employees also shared how electricity is delivered to homes and business, helping students better understand the role utility workers play in their communities.

Career events are a great way to educate and connect with the youngest residents. Students are always excited to learn about career opportunities in the electrical industry and look forward to trying on personal protective equipment.
