AEP Texas crews continue efforts to restore electric service in the aftermath of the storm that rolled through the Laredo area around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night. At one point, approximately 21,600 customers lost power. By midnight, that number had been reduced to 14,640. As of 8:30 a.m. this morning, the number of customers without power had decreased to approximately 2,700.
AEP Texas estimates that electric service will be restored to most of those customers still without power by this afternoon, if not sooner. In some cases, utility poles and power lines knocked down by high winds will have to be repaired or replaced. In other cases, many circuit breakers tripped by extensive lightening will have to be reset. AEP
