AEP Texas crews reach 87 percent restoration level

At noon on Thursday, crews have restored power to 87 percent of the customers who were left without electric service as a result of Hurricane Nicholas. Approximately 1,970 customers remain without power, which is down from a peak of approximately 14,900 early Tuesday.

Additional crews are moving into the affected areas Thursday to assist with the restoration effort.

Estimated Times of Restoration (ETR): AEP Texas crews expect to have restored electric service to at least 95 percent of customers affected using the following updated, projected ETRs:

  • Wadsworth/Matagorda                       Thursday, 9 p.m.
  • Palacios                                              Thursday, 5 p.m.
  • Bay City                                              Thursday, 5 p.m.
